'93 HONDA DEL SOL ENGINE HELP
Hey, so I'm a little light on cash, but I was able to scrape up enough cash to buy this as a build, my Del sol had a D15b7 in it, but it was an SI model... so somewhere along the line someone switched the engine, but I was able to stick a d16z6 head on it for a mini-me swap. now my piston rings are so bad that I am burning so much oil that I need to put in 4 quarts a month... instead of dealing with that my buddy gave me a SOHC D16zc bottom block. it didn't have any pistons or rods so I picked up some d16z6 rods and some
D16A1 pistons.
so my question is can I put together this engine?
D16z6 head
D16zc block
D16A1 pistons
D16z6 Rods
If so what size head gasket would I need? and will I need to make any adjustments? I believe the timing belt would be the same as a d16z6 right?

Theres alot of variable factors. The block you got may just need a hone and you can put the p29 pistons in. But if there is anything wrong with the cylinder walls it may need to be bored a little and those pistons will be useless to you.
If it turns out you can get away with just a hone you would need a 75mm head gasket.
Another thing, with those p29's in the motor get ready for an immediate tune, cause you'll get alot of detonation until its tuned

Sounds like you have quite a bit of reading to do....

Very typical when replacing pistons.

A must when internally modifying engines.

ok, well I know what a tune is, but what would make me need one? the pistons I got are 75mm, and the hone is the only question I have.
the link you attached was broken.
but the main question is will that build work? and if so do I need a thicker head gasket? I have no pistons to compair sizes with

Weird I clicked the links again and they work for me
sorry bout that
Honing takes the imperfections out of the cylinder walls
That build will work...has been done many and ah many times. You will NEED a tune because those pistons yield too high of compression for a stock ecu to be able to work with. Without a tune you WILL experience detonation.
You wont need any thicker HG than stock oem size...with that set-up using those pistons and a oem z6 headgasket nets you 12.05:1 compression. Large difference between that and stock 9.14:1 compression.

It will run. Is it advised or safe to drive around at that CR on a stock ecu...no. Buy a chip with a basemap on it for your setup, that way you can safely get it to the tuner...or tow it there.
