Default Here's a tip for brake pedal height adjustment

When you do your brakes, and bleed them, the last step according to the manual is the adjust the pedal height.

Well, as tempting as it is to skip it, it does make for a better braking experience when adjusted correctly.

But you may wonder how the **** do I measure that space from the pedal to the cut-out in the carpet?

First rip the carpet back, and you will see a flap in the plastic underneath the brake pedal, pull that back to expose the metal underneath.

Grab a new pencil, measure and mark it starting at the eraser to match the spec. in the Hayes manual. Now saw the pencil at the mark with a decent sharp utility knife.

Now you have a perfect no-brainer measuring tool. Just try to put it at the same angle as shown in the manual.

Now adjust the brake pedal as usual.

Next tip I will post, after I snap a photo, my own little method for removing the "bitch" pin easily (before I saw another great way linked on the FAQ).
