b16 into my 91 si....put her in started her up no codes ran perfect for 50 miles or so

Today while accelerating the engine just stopped for a second then started back up(it was still in gear) it got worse and worse until I could no longer restart the car at all....

I know its getting spark its got fuel at the rail, there is no codes at all

I took out the injectors and cleaned them off with brake cleaner and put them back in. Changed the fuel filter also. All it does when I start it is back fire a little bit......

u got fuel and spark but no pow? try ecu, run a stock si and see she runs, also try a compression test or see if u jumped timing on a cam gear, to think of it check your valve train, all a motor needs is air spark and gas and it seems u got all of these so maybe they arent being used right? thats all i can think off good luck

check your plug wires,, make sure there not in the wrong sequence, i know it sounds dumb, but ive done it. also check all your grounds. i had VTEC come on and off like 4 times through 3rd gear once,,,AKA a bad tranny to chassis ground.

 

my experience with main relays is that once they start, they run fine until you turn the car off. My main relay went out, and although it took forever to get it started, it ran fine until I turned the car off. I dont think main relays stop working while the car is running, bnut i could be wrong. check your injector resistor box.

 

Scrap that car or give it to me....

 

Check the distributor rotor, make sure it's on there tight and hasn't moved any. That was my problem.

 

check timing......you'll still get spark just not at the right time........

 

When you say you get fuel, do you have fuel pressure? Like, if you take off a line and put it in a can, does it spray fuel or trickle?
