What do you think of this deal?
1991 B18a1 longblock with 162,000 miles. For 350$? I want to use the block for my ls/vtec turbo setup. 350 sounds like a good price, but 162,000 miles seems like a lot. the block will be sent out to golden eagle to be resleeved and bored to 84mm. Everything is legit. So what..should i do it? Or is that too many miles?
If your totally rebuilding the block, it doesn't matter if their is 200k on the block as long as nothing is cracked. If you rebuild, everthing should be within a certin spec and should run fine. I've seen some 96 LS blocks go for about $350 so I think you could probably get it for $300 or under.
If you've already got a B18A/B block, I've got a B18B1 that's missing some parts and needs a rebuild. It's missing the mounts, a few sensors, header bracket, and some other stuff.
It's sitting in the shop and the owner decided to forego using it for his EG swap b/c it would be cheaper and more efficient to just get a complete swap rather than piecing everything together. He'd probably take $250 + S&H for it.
It does need to be cleaned up and properly inspected, check, freshened up, and blueprinted before usage tho b/c I'm not sure of the mileage or the exact wear & tear on the internal rotating assembly. The block and head look good tho.
