Accord struggling up hill
My '97 LX accord a/t-158,xxx km's has been struggling going up hills if I don't give it enough gas. Seems this happens when I have it around 2200-2300 rpm, then it drops down to 2000 rpm with slight rpm jump and makes a louder bwahhhh sound. After I give it more gas the sound and hesitation goes away. I know Honda's aren't the greatest when going up hills and the grade logic technology isn't that great either. No CEL, would anyone know what would cause this?
Thanks
Thanks

Wires and plugs were replaced almost two years ago. I check the wires all the time, and clean the plugs once a year. I'm pretty sure it has the original distributor still.
my car struggles with the same issue, and I know for a fact that it is either my mechanical or ignition timing. I kinda sort of made the issue better by advancing my dist. all the way, but I still get a lag when going uphill.
OP, since your car is ob2 I am uncertain if you can adjust the ignition timing, hopefully the experts can clarify this.
I won't get into mechanical timing, unless the timing belt was recently serviced.

Ignition timing on obd2 cars are nonadjustable. OP, replace your distributor cap and rotor. That should be one of the things that you should be replacing more than anything on your car...cept for engine oil.

Isn't it something like every four oil changes you should do the cap and rotor? That's what i do only because i got tired of misfiring and random misses. Besides it's not that expensive to do.

The timing belt was replaced about 35,000 km's ago, so timing shouldn't be an issue. Valves don't sound too loud either. I'll replace the cap and rotor once it warms up a bit..hopefully that helps. It's a b*tch wrenching on cold metal in the winter haha. I've never changed a cap and rotor, is pretty straight forward?
you'll need a small mm wrench (8 mm i think) and a small MM socket, and yes it's simple procedure. Once you're in there your common sense will guide you.
The bolts could be Phillips head (they are on my car) but i'd rather use a wrench and socket, since there is a tendency for things to strip.
