Default crx si d16z6 swap, cleaning up a mess

ok so i picked up this car today dirt cheap its rusty but it would make a nice sleeper .. but picing up a car half way threw a swap means dealling with other people sh*t work they do. ok so what im working with is a 90 si crx with a d16z6 swap from my knowledge the best way to do this is to buy an obd1 jumper harness and run the p28 then just switch the distributor over and call it a day ...but these people have hacked into the harness so much i don't know if it will be that simple, ill post pictures of what im working with and im looking for suggestions as too what to do

1. when i turn the key on the relay under the dash starts making all these
also a few quick questions weird clicking noises...is the relay bad..i know that's common or do i have a short some where?

2 is a vacuum issue i know how the stock vacuum ran and what connectors went where but it appears the d16s vacuum solenoid is on the back of the manifold and it takes a different connector.. is it as simple as i think and just cut the old rectangle one off and wire up a new circle one?

Best advice i can give you...Start over. Its been awhile since Ive done the swap but i know there are write ups about it. Get the correct harness, distributor, and ecu and start it all over the correct way. You may be able to fix it easy but i generally find that something usually goes wrong when people cut corners. Do research and find write up about how they did and check all of there work, or start over.

I would ditch all that and start over, it looks hacked together by someone who doesn't know what they were doing. Does the car run?

subscribed to this!!!! cause i will most likely be doing the same swap into the same car, d16z6 into a 90 crx. i might be sending some pms about what i need to do since its been years since i worked on any honda. but good luck with this and if there is any help needed i'll throw in my 2 sense even though it might not be much!

no the car doesnt run, my problem is that i was going to go to the juink yard and cut the ends of an si harness and a dist. of a d16z6 but our local junk yard never has crx's

well this is only my 2nd swap so i still have alot of learning to do my self, is your ar dpfi or mpfi? becuase from what i am ready them swap isnt to hard if your car is already mpfi, now if its dpfi then you have an extra step converting it to mpfi

It's a little pricey but, buy a rywire jumper harness. It's $189 for EVERYTHING you'll need, harness-wise.

Here's a link to what im talking about http://www.rywire.com/catalog/obd0-m...kage-p-69.html

It probably likely that it is not a vtec harness. This is why you cant find the connectors

i thought all si's were v tec? guess that shows how much i know about si's. this is only my 2nd swap so im still learning but i think i found one reason it wont run. i beleive the main relay is bad. it makes a clicking noise when i try starting it and when i try to use things like the sunroof and of coarse i dont have spark.. does this sound right ?
