Default Trunk emblems

I just got a new trunk lid (well, a used but nicer cond. than my original from LKQ). Is there a way to get the factory H and HONDA emblems off my orig. trunk to the replacement one without damaging them?

Run wire or nylon fishing line behind it to cut the glue then pop off

I use a flat head screw driver and pry them off very carefully. You want to make sure you go slowly since you want to make sure you get the sockets that hold the emblems into the truck and hood. For the HONDA logo, that is usually held in by double sided tape and can be pried off easily with a flat head.
