Temp/Pressure sensor location ideas and setup. Suggestions welcomed?
I have an ITR B18C in my 94 Civic CX hatch. My goal is to specifically use my car for weekend road racing. I want to monitor my coolant temp, oil temperature, and oil pressure. I currently have a 5.5qt Moroso oil pan with a bung for a sensor. For cooling, I have a full length KOYO integra racing radiator.
My plan is to use my Moroso's bung for the oil temperature sensor. For the coolant temperature, I found a 32mm radiator hose adapter that has a bung for a sensor. This would require me to cut my upper radiator hose in half and place this adapter between the two hoses. No big deal. Last, I figured I could use some kind of T connection on the Oil Pressure sending unit near my oil filter and use that bung for an aftermarket sensor.
My question is: Is this an ideal way to measure these readings? Can it be better? I've researched these sandwich adapters between the block and oil filter and I'm not sure if that adapter is optimal for my needs. I would appreciate any suggestions. I'm looking for the most reliable and simple setup. THanks

Sounds like it should be fine. Just make sure you check for leaks. I personally dont like sandwich plates as all the ones ive had leak or blow a seal under high oil press. If you do go sandwich make sure you get a good quality one, not ebay.
I can't speak for the oil temp since I don't have one of those gauges, but for the others here's my $0.02.
Coolant Temp. I HATE those adapters that go into the hose. I think they look horrible. they function fine, but just seems horribly unnecessary - but maybe that's just me since on my personal car I try to make this stuff as clean as possible. My upper water neck had a nipple on it, I forget what it was for originally. Possibly to feed coolant to the throttle body, or something of that sort. I removed the nipple and tapped the water neck for the ECT sending unit.
Generally if you're doing a swap you have the opportunity to clean up a lot of the stock wiring, vacuum lines, and coolant lines. I took that opportunity to leave only what I needed in place as well as change how/where things were routed - partially for simplicity, partially for aesthetics, and partially because the I needed to make my intake manifold work with my engine/chassis and wanted it to have a clean OEM look/feel.
See the nipple next to the bleed screw? I removed that.

As for the oil pressure. I've always heard bad things about T fittings on the back of the block. Some people use them for years without problems, others use them for a short period and they snap. I opted to just get a sandwich adapter, AN fittings, -3AN braided line, and ran a line from the sandwich adapter to the gauge. Unfortunately I don't have any pics of this.

Thanks for your comments
Fortunately, I discovered a bung on my Koyo Racing radiator. I can place a water temperature sensor on that without using a 32mm radiator hose adapter. I will probably get the Greddy sandwich adapter instead of using the T-connection for my oil pressure reading. I believe that the Greddy unit is a good quality unit that I will not have to worry about. THe Greddy unit also allows me to upgrade to an oil cooler if I wish in the future. It has three ports. Thanks.
