Hi Guys,

Just had one of the weirdest problems come up and going nuts trying to identify sort out the same.

The car - EG8 with fully built B18C5 with ITB's
ECU - Neptune RTP Demon

Problem - Car was running absolutely fine till I reached a traffic light. Idling ok no chk lights and all of a sudden when I slot it into 1st to move ahead the car dies out on me. Restart the same it idles just fine and revs clean whilst stationery. Gave it some more gas and managed to move ahead only to have the car die on me again. After a couple more attempts of revving the car higher and move ahead the car started misfiring. It sounded like it was coming from the engine bay.

Have checked all connectors, vaccum lines , fuel lines, fuel pressure but could not find a fault. Had to eventually have the car towed home. ECU shows no trouble codes.

Next day after the car sat cold overnight decided to see if the problem came up. Car fires up ok drove peacefully for about 2 kms and hit Vtec once. Few minutes after that same symptoms cropped up and car stuck on road with engine running but unable to move ahead.

Pls help as to where the problem could be.

I would take it back to whoever tuned it. Softwear issue?

Does not look like a tuning issue as the car ran fine for more than 2 weeks after it was tuned. Could be wrong tho.

The tuner is from Sri Lanka hence that option is ruled out.

No trouble codes sounds like some ecu wiring issues. I used to have my ecu on the floor and if it moved at all the wires would short out and kill the motor to a 300 rpm idle and i would get no codes.

When you do get it to act up check and see if your getting weak spark or low fuel press.
