98 Type-R swap wont start- Epic issue-OG's please help!
Ok thanks for viewing this thread I have tried everything I can think of and done any and all research before posting this so bare with me.
The car is a 98 GSR with 98+spec ITR swap 45k miles has started and ran fine for the past year. Drove it to the store came out it wouldn't start.
Issue- Shooting fuel from intake, solid check engine light, no spark, wont start.
When I prime the key it seems as tho the injectors are staying open, when I pull the plugs and the key is primed I can hear it spraying and see mist coming out of the spark plug chamber (doesn't stop) until I turn the key off. Seems like alot of fuel for the short amount of time the key is on.
I inspected and replaced the distributer with a known working one from a friends car still wont start. The car does have a solid check engine light so my next assumption is ECU. So I order a chipped and socketed obd-1 ecu and jumper harness. I install and it stayed the same issues, solid light no spark no fire. I grabbed a friends obd-1 LS ECU after that and tossed it in (didn't try to start it) I.E different maps, did not wanna hurt it but it DID have spark.
I just went today and purchased a stock obd-2 JDM type-R ECU and put it in and still the same issue, no spark, dumping fuel, wont start, solid cel.
I have checked every fuse under the dash and under the hood and everything checks out fine. I have checked all grounds and they seem fine as well. I have called several Honda/Acura performance shops in the area and none of them seem to have a clue much like myself so any and all insight is greatly appreciated. This car is my DD and it is ******* me over massivly by not being able to drive PLEASE HELP!

Well that sucks to know... I also just got a bit more insight on the issue, apparantly before the car turned off there was a surge in idle. It went from 1k-2k fluctuating. Now I am leaning towards crankshaft sensor. I jumped the pins and the CEL stayed solid but the ABS light blinked out three codes I am not sure if it is blinking me CEL codes or ABS codes but if it is CEL I am getting a TPS,CYP, and Traction control. I am going to replace the crankshaft sensor and see if that does the trick.
Id try changing the map sensor. but first if your friend has a WORKING throttle body with 98 sensors just swap it over to save you some money. Be careful you dont break the throttle body gasket or you will have to buy a new one.
if that doesnt do it my only other guess without checking it out in person would be the main relay?

Well update, turns out it is and obd1 engine so there is no crank sensor. I did notice it was off one tooth in time but I highly doubt that was the issue. Kinda back to the drawing board..

Check your fuel pump connector under your backseat lower cushion. If its corroded its frying your ecu, causing the injectors to stay on. U need to repair the wires before u put another ecu in. Hope this helps
You sir are a God damn gentleman and a scholar lol. I pulled the back seat and sure enoughthe connector was submerged in water and covered in corrosion. One wire even came free from the plug. I'm off to buy a new plug as we speak ill post the results!
Ok update, I hard wired the connectors but now I am still expieriencing a solid check engine light and I don't hear the fuel pump prime at all. I have tried three different ECU's but I did try them all before I hard wired it so I suppose they could all be fried. Kinda at a loss for words at the moment. My guess is I need to try and find a known working ECU and try that. I'm not hearing the main relay do anything and im not hearing the fuel pump prime.
Do u still have the old connectors with some wires on it? u can match up the wire color from one end of the connector to the other end. Sounds like u got the wires mixed up,bad crimp,or blew a fuse? Look at one of your friends integra harness n match the wires. Hope this helps
