Confusion about headlights and bulbs...
I'm trying to fix a problem for my buddy. His car is a '99 Accord Coupe EX. He had some aftermarket headlights from eBay installed. The problem is, the lights on the passenger side work fine but the drivers side is all wonky. Upon inspection, I noticed that the drivers side low beam wiring harness was cut off and then straight wired. I've done a little research, and I've read that coupes have different low beam bulbs than sedans. If this is the case, it might explain why the installer couldn't get the H11 harness to fit the pre-installed aftermarket 9006 headlight bulb. If I buy a new H11 harness and bulbs, I'm hoping this will fix the issue.
Has anyone else had similar issues with cheap, black, aftermarket lights from eBay?
Thanks guys!

Shitty halo headlights?
The coupes have identical bulbs as the sedans. The low beam (stock) for both vehicles is 9006. The high beam (stock) for both is 9005. You can verify this from:

I have no idea what you mean by 'straight wired'. Your buddy SHOULD have either purchased or made an adapter harness for the H11 bulbs (if that's what they take) rather than hack up the OEM harness. I would suggest you assist him with that should he chose to keep those headlights.
I think your last statement says it all though, 'cheap'. You should convince your buddy to go back to stock. For the most part, those lights throw out less usable light than the stock ones and are not nearly as good in quality.
From looking at these:

It appears in the last image to have a stock adapter harness already. I don't know what lights he purchased though.
