Looking for a good front brake setup for my track car. Ideas?
I'm looking for a good brake setup for my 94 civic cx hatch for weekend road racing. I need the most optimal setup but I don't really want to spend more than $800. Fortunately, there are many options for my needs that include big brake kits from Wilwood, fastbrakes.com, and using various OE parts.
Currently, I have rear Integra RS disc brakes, OE CX front calipers, slotted and drilled discs all around, Integra RS brake master cylinder, 40/40 proportioning valve, stainless steel brakelines all around, APR extended wheel studs, 13.9lb 15" Rota Slipstreams with 40 offset, and very sticky Toyo R888s.
I want to upgrade the CX front brake setup. I was thinking of adding Hawk HP+ pads. Will this be enough for my road racing needs? Keep in mind that my CX front discs are a small 9.5" diameter. Can ya'll recommend other reliable front setups? Thanks for any inputs

Sorry for the Hijack.
I purchase a project 1993 EG hatch about a month ago. It has rear integra spindle/trailing arm/gsr rear disk rotors and calipers. With my rota slip stream 15x6.5 +40 offset 205/50/15 running -1.5 rear camber rubbed in the rear if I had passengers in the back. I was able to get the tires to stop rubbing by running -2.0 rear camber. Everybody tells my car should have been fine. I am wondering if the integra spindle/trailing arm/brakes made the track width wider. Did you notice a change in track with when you installed the integra stuff?
Since our cars are almost identical I wanted to know if your rear tires rub with passengers.

You are limited by wheel size. I'm pretty sure the slips actually have less inner diameter than quite a few other 15" wheels so the Itr setup I'm about to mention may not even fit under them; you'll have to look into it if it's something you may be interested in. The best bang for your buck and seemingly most popular oem upgrade is to change over to a set of itr calipers which can be had for about $45 a piece on rock auto and then use mini cooper rotors.
My variation was to use legend gs rotors because they are significantly thicker than the mini rotors, but that requires the use of 28t caliper brackets, and you have to re-drill the rotors to 4x100. Most want a direct bolt up, and as a result that peticular combo isn't super popular. The legend rotors were more appealing to me for my racecar because they are thicker and therefore, a bigger heat sink at the cost of weight.
Being that you are using the civic knuckles, I don't know how that effects how the parts would bolt up because I've personally never done an Itr setup using civic knuckles. Check out the sticky at the tpp of the forum by brake expert. It lists all the various possible combos using x caliper with x knuckle and x rotor.
Also if you are really going to be beating on the brakes I'd recommend hawk dtc 60's or a similar pad from cobalt. Only for the track though as they are very expensive and they would wear out quickly on the street. Of course, everything is up to you, so take my suggestion as nothing more than that.

^^Truth, Op the legend calipers are also 2 pot vs the ITR single piston. NSX calipers can also bolt up using the same 28t bracket and milling 3mm off of that bracket. Any 1 of the three calipers chosen will be a significant upgrade from what you are currently using as they all with utilize a 11" rotor. NSX and Legend will dissipate heat better then the ITR caliper will but at a higher cost. I know brake expect has a complete bolt on package for Civics using ITR calipers. If I remember correctly, they are around $395

Would the legend calipers, 28T bracket, and mini cooper rotors be able to fit inside my 15" rota slipstreams? Thanks for the recommendations so far!
Probably not, like 98GsrIntegra said the slips have one of the smallest inner diameters of any 15" wheel. Your closest brake upgrade for fitment is going to be the ITR setup. Even with the ITR setup you are going to be over an inch further out then stock. I personally went with the ITR upgrade from ProPartsUSA.com just because of price. You're going to run into fitment problems with any brake upgrade with 15" wheels. There are certain 15" wheels that will fit brake upgrades.
If you want to use mini rotors you should use 23t caliper brackets with legend gs calipers.
If you did itr calipers with re-drilled prelude vtec rotors you could probably do it for $150 before you bought pads if you did the work yourself.
I'm pretty sure itr, legend, and nsx calipers will not fit under your slips. They all take the same size pad as well.
