Default Help with brake setup please

ok, so I have a 95 cx with gsr swap...my brakes SUCK so bad that I can't even lock them up no matter how hard I try. I have 15" rotas with falken ziex's. I was looking at integra brakes to buy but I read that the front discs are 10.2", but so are the civics, and the same is true about rear discs (9.?").

I want some good breaking power cuz I intend to track it once in a while and I want to survive a fender bender (knock on wood). I know upgrading my wimpy MC is a must, but what else would be beneficial? Also, I heard that the brake lines on the civic don't match up with the MC from a teg. Is this true, or is there a MC from another car that would match up?
AND...Is it worth it to put DC breaks up front and rear? Or would getting some new crossdrilled and/or slotted rotors/pads/steel lines have some good stopping power with some new shoes in the back? I'm a college student so I'm kinda on the poor side but I can see spending about $200-$250...maybe $300.

Thanks for the help in advance
-Austin

slotted rotors and more aggressive pads with steel lines would increase braking performance alot and still retain the stock MC. other wise upgrade the front and convert the rear to disc and use a 99-00 civic si MC.

teg front rotors are larger than stock CX. plus the CX came with rear drum, unless you converted them all ready.

running larger fronts with better pads and rotors will get you the most braking for the buck. But upgrading the MS and prop valve would be advisable if you want the most fomr the new setup.
SS lines will help pedal feel and better fluid will help to prevent boiling the fluid when you get to the track.

I read that by just upgrading my shoes in the drums, that it would be sufficient enough, and since i wanna drag too, the drums weigh less than discs and there is less rotating mass. My main focus is what I should do with the front. Does the 99-00 SI MC match up to the existing brake lines?

The brake lines should plug in fine to any master cylinder you get. The only time you'll run into a problem is if you get a MC from a RHD car like me.

i know they will plug in fine, its just that i think the metal line wont meet up to plug...you have to bend them and ****...not sure if that is a big deal or where you could get that done or how u do it

Oh, we might be on the same boat then. I had to bend my lines to fit them on the RHD MC. If you've never done it before I'd suggest having someone else do it. But you basically just can't bend it too sharp. Bend it against something round.

10.2 inch rotors only came on ex civics in the front.

Best bet would be get integra brake all the way around with an RS integra or eg6 prop valve which is 30/30 or 40/40 along with a 15/16 master cylinder.

And no, the master cylinder from an integra will not fit, unless its an RS without abs.

I run the EK SI BB/MS in my EG. It requires you to slightly bend one of the lines but it was really easy.

The 1991 Civic EX 4 door MC is a 15/16 and it doesn't require replacing the booster in the EG like teg and other options. See Link

Good advice, but if you only have $300ish you might just have to stick with a pad upgrade (I run Hawks, love them) and maybe lines.

Unless you get a hell of a deal on parts - especially for a rear disc conversion (trailing arm assembly w/ calipers, links, e-brake cables, master cylinder etc. etc.)

I can vouch for this. I have the teg abs MC, and the fitting at the end of the hard line is the wrong size. IMO, get new shoes for the drums, and bigger front brakes (need the MC/BB for this), good pads, and you'll be fine.
