How to known if I need to change transmission oil ?
Hi,
I bought a Accord 1996 3 years ago. I drove about 20,000KM since.
I have no idea when the last trnasmission oil change has been done.
Should I do it ? How can I check If I need to do it ?
Thanks

Should you do it? Yes, especially if you don't know the car's history. How can you check? You could send a sample in for analysis. That would cost more than the fluid change. Go here: http://www.blackstone-labs.com/what-is-oil-analysis.php

If it's black or dark it needs to be changed, however it would be best to change it out if you just got it to be on the safe side. I'm guessing it's an automatic since you didn't say, however if you got a stick you won't be able to visually inspect it, so just change it.
Yeah.... I don't buy into that. If you're concerned with it, you're better off with a magnetic drain plug. The fluid change you did made more of a difference than that 'filter'
like the others I say you should just do it but also use honda mtf and not some other cheap s***
