Default Turbo Engine Question

Alright, I'm pretty new to the honda world, still trying to nail down the engines and such. But i have a chance to pick up an engine for fairly cheap... but have been told by a few people that it wasnt worth it... Thought I'd just ask everyone on here :D

It would be going into a 97 Civic Lx

If I do get it and it's worth my time, I don't plan on running it for a lot of power or boost, probably sit it right around 5-8psi, and 180-200hp/tq

Thanks for the Help

Get rid of the ricer-tastic paint

And a built motor is so much overkill for a little Greddy 15g that will only make 230 at most

You could save a bunch of money by buying a healthy stock motor, doing studs and a headgasket and do something like a gt28 based turbo kit

And you also have to keep in mind you're putting and obd1 motor in an obd2 car, so you'll need a new wiring harness, chipped ecu, and good luck when it comes emissions time... the obd1 motor doesn't have the sensors that an obd2 does, so you won't pass...

And even then, you'd need to put the stock injectors back in. Remove the wastegate arm off the turn/or pull a charge pipe and drive like an angel so you don't get into boost on Tue stock ecu. Which equals immediate CEL and you have to start the readiness driving all over again

It's always worth it to freshen up the tires and suspension. Everything else? No.
