D16z6 turbo setup autox, hpde, time attack GT28RS??
anyone running a D16z6 with GT28RS turbo?
i'm trying to figure out what turbo to go with
car is going to mostly be used for Autox, HPDE's, and Time Attacks.
i'd like to have a decent response and powerband from like 3500rpm up.
and would like to be in the mid/high 200hp range at maybe 14psi max.
setup
1988 civic hatch
D16z6
eagle rods
SRP 75.5mm pistons
cometic HP head gasket
ARP head studs
mildly ported head
(haven't decided on cam yet)
Hondata S300
civic EX trans w lsd
4.9 final drive

Re: (AbitAvenger)
isn't that a bit large?
i'm not looking for all top end power. something that will spool fairly low and still support up to 300hp up top. say 7500rpm redline
looks like that Evo III 16G flows around 510 cfm at 2 BAR
not sure if i need that much on a 1.6 liter
the GT28RS flows just under 500 cfm.
14g flows around 470 cfm

Re: (hybridmoments)
The GT28RS would be perfect for you goals. We ran the T28 based turbine housing with a .86 A/R. Made 258 WHP on 10 PSI with a great powerband. Here is a link to the dyno graph: http://forums.evans-tuning.com...=2017

We have almost the same build. I am using 75.5mm A6 pistons (~10.4:1). I just picked up an Apex turbo kit. From the information I have gathered the IHI turbo included in the kit is pretty similar to a GT28R. Hopefully I'll be dynoing in the next few weeks. I'll post the graph.

Re: (EpicTuning)
wow. that dyno chart for that GT28RS looks quite nice
making 100hp by 3500rpm and jumping to 180hp by 4500rpm
and 200 wtq from 4300rpm to 6750rpm.
all on 10psi
