Default parking brake dashboard light stays on

When I release the parking brake, the warning light on the dash panel should go off. It does not; this started several months ago. It started quite soon after I local shop bled the brake lines and adjusted the rear brakes but I don't know that their work has anything to do with this.

I mentioned this to the shop and they said the switch needed to be replaced. I believe it is located at or near the base of the parking brake handle. If so, then the cover panel around the handle would have to be removed to gain access to the switch. Can anyone confirm this for me?

Also, does this look like the right part?: http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...628&showTitle=

The master cylinder was replaced by me just before I took the car to the shop to get the lines bled. I've no sign of any leaking. The fluid level in the master cylinder is near the top of the reservoir.

The light does dim slightly when I release the parking brake but is still bright.

Then there is a connection where there shouldn't be. Either your switch is shorting, or it's getting power from somewhere else. I had to rewire mine, the ligh wouldn't turn off. So I ran a new wire from the switch to the back of the gauge cluster - fixed the problem. But check the switch first

The switch you have listed in original post is a manually operated switch. You need Honda part #47342-S04-003 SWITCH, PARKING BRAKE. It's possible yours is cruddy with dirt and debris. You may get away with just cleaning it.
