I have been looking around on all the forums and can only find a couple things about del sol weight reduction? I know the sol's are initially a heavier car but i'm wondering if any one has any suggestions on what i can do or take out to reduce weight? I dont care about cf parts and i have already cut the a/c. Thanks!

 

What reason do you have for a weight reduction?
Drag racing?
Road Racing?

Is there anything else in a sol that could be taken out? for a difference.

 

Buy a CRX
Strip CRX to bare shell
Transfer everything important (built engine, tunable ECU, whatever else you've done) from overweight (and weak chassis) Del Slow to CRX
Sell Del Sol and any unneeded parts after swap
Enjoy

I'm not kidding. This is probably the single best "weight reduction per $ spent" available.

 

Imo gut the carpet, get a fuel cell, pull all wiring thats not needed, maybe drill out parts that dont need that much metal but still keep the stregnth, get light weight rims ext...

I agree with this method. Plenty of CRX's that are super light.
