If the radio code doesn't work, does that mean the radio is dead?
I bought a used OEM cassette/radio, called the dealer and gave them the S/N and they gave me the code. Tried it but it didn't work. Called another dealer just to verify I got the right number. I did.
It came from ebay, so it had been disconnected from power quite some time. However, I am still unable to get it do accept the code. I've disconnected it a couple times now and still no go.
Is there anything else I should try before making an artificial reef out of it?

Is it prompting you with the CODE display?
Have you checked your fuses to verify you don't have a busted one? There are two that handle it.

What does it do after that?
It should do one long beep, then cut to the radio IIRC.
If that's not occuring, check the Backup Antenna/Radio fuse on the interior fuse box as well as the main radio fuse under the hood. The Backup Antenna/Radio can cause issues.

it doesn't "do" anything. Turn it on, "code" shows, enter code . . . . nothing changes. "code" still there, no beeps, nothing.
all fuses are good. Is there an internal fuse in the radio? Is there some sort of "hold while turning on" type proceedure?
