Default 88 rt4wd wagon, need some info about lowering

Here are a few questions
1. Are the top hats from an "ek" interchangable to these cars? I have extras, so im wondering

2. How much can I extend the top hats in the front?

3. I have some lowering springs for a DA for the rear. Anyone ever use DA spring on the rear of a wagon?

4. Can i run different size tire front rear? Or rs the wagon setup like traditional 4x4 diffs?

1) You have them. See if the studs line up. Seriously doubt that they do, but easy enough to check.
2) Until they hit the bottom of the hood. Since it sounds like you are going to weld up your own then you should measure it up. Keep in mind that you should try (not always possible) to extend the hat the same distance as you lower. If you lower one inch, then extend one inch.
3) Not a great move.
Wagon strut (black) compared to hatch. Spring perch is about 1.5" lower on wagon.

Comparing DC/DA/Hatch shocks, they all have the same perch from the LCA mount.

This would RAISE your car if you put STOCK DA struts on.
Lowering spring may compensate for the 1.5" difference. With that said, most lowering springs have a higher rate than stock length springs.
This increased rate will cause all sorts havoc with a stock shock (wrong valving) and you will have a bouncy ride until the shocks finally blow.

!. I believe they do line up. I was seeing if there was another difference that got in the way.

2. Some guy is welding up a set for me. He says he has 2.5" extentions on his in front, 3.5" in back. that sounded like it would hit the hood, so im asking for other peoples opinions

3. Im using the stock wagon struts because they are new. Using regular ef springs give the wagons a significant drop because of the perch location, but I know the DA springs are taller than civic springs.
