Default Easy transmission question

I know that's write PL3-3000 on a 'si transmission (89-91). Yesterday, I bought a transmission and I was thinking that is a 'si transmission (the guy said this to me), but it's not write PL3-3000 on it, but A000. ?!? What's the deal? it's a 'si transmission or just a poor 'dx ??

Sorry for my poor english... i talk french...

In Canada, we don't have the manual 4 speeds and the 70 hp motor in the civic...

Yes, get your money back. The DX tranny has too long of gearing. I just got rid of mine for an Si/ZC hybrid tranny. And it makes a huge difference.

I already have a 'si transmission on my '95 'si motor, and I bought a spare 'si transmission... Just to be sure.

Thanks for the link buddy.

I just put in a new Si tranny, I will sell you my old one, it has a broken slector shaft. It would be easy to fix.

count the number of splines on the input shaft, if there's 21 then it's an 88 and there is still a chance of having an si. the problem is you'll need an 88 clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate to make it work.

the tranny I recently got screwed into buying also says A000. It is an '88, and I haven't pulled it apart yet to check the gear ratio, but I plan to.

I opened up my tranny today and counted the gears, .771 5th and 3.722 final
5th gear is right for either DX or SI, but the final drive is wierd, Si is supposed to be 4.250 and DX is supposed to be 3.888, so this tranny is even higher geared than a normal DX!!! boy did I get screwed!!

I don't suppose you would want to get one of these cheap Si transmissions (90 or 91 preferred), pull out the mainshaft, countershaft, and ring gear and send them to me so I can convert my tranny to an Si one? shipping the whole transmission costs too much, it's not worth it.
