Default Headlight\Electrical Problem

i posted this a couple days ago but i need some clarity. the point at which the connector connects to the bulb. there is two wires a red and black. my headlight kept going out and i looked at the wires and the black one looks to have some of the covering off and the wires are exposed and green. when i wiggle this wire it turns the headlight off and on. what do i need to do to fix this? i am not going to just wrap it with electrical tape cause i wanna actually fix it. how would i repair this. it doesnt look like i can just cut the wire down and re-insert. its too snug 4 that. also i dont see replacing the entire harness since i cant seem to find the end of its. (its all loomed up). any help would be great.

You could go to Home Depot or something like that and find a copper de-oxidizer solution for faucets. That black wire is the 'ground' wire for the headlight...its completing the circuit back to the chassis+battery (-). Try that stuff, get it clean then wrap tightly with electrical tape.

What you could also do is cut the whole connector off and splice in a connector from another accord from a junkyard or something. Maybe even another car from even another year as long as its the same size. Those connectors are pretty standardized.

Edit: I'm surprised that a 2001 accord is showing this kind of problem. Take it in for warranty work? I think the body had a 100k mile corrosion warranty....?

thanks for the tips. i had a feeling that this was caused by me runing those crappy blue higher wattage bulbs when i first got my car. then i switched to HID.s and i was having problems with that side with the HIDs....the ballast i thought but i guess my harness was fried. took it to honda today and they had to replace a couple of things. only 45 bucs for the three parts and they wanted another 45 for labor......bwahaha...installed the new plug and connectors myself. seems the whole **** had melted. to me for paying so much for easy to findshit but oh well.

I got a similiar problem with my lighting...I tried to wire my bumber lights to second as foglights by connecting a new line to the turnsignals and disconnecting the bumber lights...it worked for a day and then stopped.....I defaulted the setup and now my turn signals dont work and the bumbers do.....I still can't figure out whats the matter
