Default New to Honda...looking into an older CRX...:)

Hello all,

New to the Honda scene however currently Honda-less. I like oldskool cars from the 80's. Where do I start? Engine? Im very open to what others have to get ideas. Definitely manual and if I can hunt down a RHD car, I'd die with happiness. I would like to build it next to my other RHD German beauty if I can so what I'd like to do is have an 88 or 89 CRX in the same colour as my VW. Two RHD hatches is my dream and Im a fan of Japan and Germany (more German )

Here is the car I picked up in the UK while in the Air Force. My 83 Scirocco

As for the CRX there at least used to be a website that explained almost everything you could want to know about the car. But the parts are harder and harder to find. Never mind a good car to start with most I've recently seen up for sale are beat up or way too much money.

I cannot afford either right now....but one day!
I just dropped my 1989 crx si off at the body shop for paint so that is about to take a chunk. Honestly if I can afford another car and it is a scirocco I would be more concerned about being rust free than which bodystyle. They are all old enough that emissions is not a concern for me.

If you are looking for a first generation crx check out red pepper racing they have a forum that is heavily devoted to the 84-87.

Look abroad for a Scirocco then. Mine was $400 and 93% rust free. (most of it behind the plastic on the forward rear arch.)

^^^Start there. Many cheap great examples. As well as other things that you may find appealing. Remember though....25+ years old and you get MUCH LESS hassles

Me too That is by far my favorite looking FWD car. I would love to have type-R engine in there or the 6spd and tsx engine.
