Stupid question but can anyone tell me what direction the heater blower motor squirrel fans should rotate? I just took the unit out and am able to bench test. I put a new motor in it last week but it didn’t blow very well after the reinstall. It’s a 1991 Accord. Thanks.

 

In the '94-'97 Accord I cleaned mine out, it blew towards the driver's side when mounted, so clockwise if you were looking at it.

 

I just came in from reinstalling mine to now rotate clockwise I think. That would be clockwise looking at it from sitting in the vehicle. The sad part is that I no longer have power coming to the fan plug from the relay. Tested the fuse and relay and they are fine but the fan will not come on. I put my meter on at the fan plug and nothing...where did the power go? The fan ran fine on the bench regardless of which way I had the wires connected and it ran when I took it out of the car earlier today. I’m puzzled...

 

I ran a jump wire from the battery to the power plug for the fan and she fires up and blows strong out the vents and defrost and the speed control switch functions as it should too. I must have wired the fan backwards despite the directional arrow sticker that is on the new fan motor. I’m going to try to resolve the power issue by running the wire from the relay to the fan plug and leave it there permanently.
