Default Removing rear bottom seat cushion from 1989 HB Civic

My fuel gauge is stuck on full. I'm told it's possible that just a ground wire has come loose from the connections on the sending unit in/on the fuel tank.

I'm also told that to get to that stuff it's under the seat.

I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to get that cushion off without breaking it!

Can anyone shed some light here?

Thanks!

You will need to first take out the top cushions that fold down. On the sides closest to the window, there are some clamps holding the seats in place. You can twist those clamps downward and push those black clamps off with a flat head screwdriver. Once off, push the seat cushion toward the window and it should slide out. After taking the one on the left side out, you should see a bracket held down by a screw, it is either a 10 mm or 12 mm. This is the screw/ bracket holding your bottom seat in place. Once the screw is out, the bottom seat cushion should be able pull up and slide out.
