I have a 1990 civic std with an ls swap. The unibody is rusted pretty bad and the rear control arm mounting is in bad shape. Is this anything In need to worry about?

if so what can I do to fix it? I cant get rid of the body and to an engine swap.

 

Jeeezzz, stop driving that thing, it is unsafe and not reparable, [not worth reparing].

It would be a lot cheaper and easier to just find a shell in better shape.

The repairs to your car will be well over 2-3 times that.

If you keep looking you can probably find someting even cheaper.

A local used car dealer, [we do some work for] has a 90 Civic STD with a blown engine
he would sell for $200 as is.

I can barely tell what it is I'm looking at the damage is so bad.

 

Its so hard to come by clean Hondas up in MN, all of them are rusted out. The cars with good bodies are a lot of money. I really want to keep the car but I dont want that to snap on me...

 

Out here in WA people are giving away clean shells with no rust.

Having the car snap on you is the least of your worries. With a decaying structure like that, if you were to get into a car accident, its guaranteed injury or possible death. Get rid of it, not worth salvaging.

 

Oh, that is the least of my concerns. I have never been in a car crash and am a careful driver. I just want to be able to drive it and have it strong. I want to know that if I corner to ahrd it wont snap.

 

get rid of the damn thing. why are you being so stubborn? just because you're a careful driver doesnt mean everyone around you is.
