buddy of mine has a civic that is throwing a code. i am unsure of the actual code number, however i have a description.

variable valve timing control system malfunction circuit bank 1

i am thinking vtec solenoid, however i do not want to just throw parts at the car. any help is greatly appreciated.

 

Its either the vtec solenoid or the vtec presure switch..

Have you checked your oil levels recently?
