Ok guys so I have a 99 Nissan maxima with the stock 3.0 engine with around 176K miles. The problem I am having is when I start the car the oil light is on for like 2 seconds then it will blink a couple times real fast after that then it never comes on after that. This only happens when I start the car and the engine is cold. Pretty much only when I start it up in the morning it does it. The oil level is fine. The oil has around 1500 miles since it was last changed with 10W-30 synthetic oil. Any ideas??

 

you are in luck, this is a common issue with maximas.. its either your Oil pressure switch or oil pump is dying

 

Oh ok thanks man. Yea when i first start it, it sounds like it knocks a little bit then it sounds normal after a few seconds.
