*help with alarm* civic ej6 hatch with pics
So I bought a shell a few weeks ago 97 dx civic hatch and it came with a prestige APS687A car system which is the link below, a "remote start and alarm system"
QUESTIONS
1. I know I can not hook up the remote start but, Would I be able to by-pass the remote start and just use the alarm system?
2. Would it be best to just remove the alarm and go stock harness remote start out of em1 (swapped dash, heater box, power windows, locks, and mirrors out of em1 already)
3. how would I go about removing the mess of alarm wires and replacing it with the keyless remote lock.

here are some pictures of what I have
I assume the red is power, black is ground, where do the two white wires and the brown/black get wired along with every wire that is on the harness with short wires?
asking for feedback please
thanks for reading - Rob

To your questions.
1) Who told you you couldn't use the remote start? You can if you want. If you want to bypass or not use the remote start you can, the rest of the alarm will still function.
2) If you want to remove the alarm you can no problem. Trying to use the EM1 harness in you car is a waste of time and money IMHO. Why would you want to?
3) Follow the alarm harness from the brain to any point it's hooked to the car and diconnect. To add keyless entry you need power door locks or add door lock actuators to each door if the locks are manual.
I didn't look at the alarm diagram but I can tell you this. On any alarm install there will be wires that are not used/needed. Alarms/remote starts/keyless entries are made with optional input and outputs. Some are for optional trigger points for things like the hood or trunk. Some have two wires for the same funtion but of different polarity. You use the one needed for type of vehicle it's installed in and don't use the other.

ok thank you, I don't even have a ecu or motor in it right now anyways but I want to figure all the electrical out. im going to need to find the wiring diagram. oh and yes it is power locks, I converted it.
