help with temp gauge!

Default help with temp gauge!

hey guys i have a problem on my granpas car its a 94 civic sedan bone stock of course lol well the temp gauge shoots all the way up as if it was over heating when it really isn't i have searched for some info and well i wanted to ask first hand now. i just change the temp sending unit and still does the same any ideas will really appreciate the help.

Oh - be VERY careful when reinstalling the fuel/temp gauge - it is EASY to break the gauge by overtightening the screws at the back of the cluster. In fact, this is probably what is wrong with the gauge in the first place (broke for whatever reason) but it's easy to break a replacement the very same way and still think you have an issue somewhere else.

Finger-tighten the screws, then about another 1/2 turn with a screwdriver, that's IT.
