Default Quick question about spoilers.

Is there any difference in feeling or down force when going from gs wing to itr or wingless? Just something that crossed my mind and every time I tried to google it, I don't see the numbers only opinions on the look instead of functionality.

You can feel downforce? There is no difference. The wings from my understanding are for looks only.

The GS didn't come with a wing. There was an optional spoiler available (the same one the GSR came with), but no wing.

It offers no downforce. It should/does reduce drag though.

The ITR wing was not intended for downforce, just better drag reduction.

You'll never feel a difference with either, and a simple gurney flap on the rear deck would produce the same reduction in drag (as would vortex generators, assuming laminar flow across the deck, which isn't the case at highway speeds with an otherwise stock body).

These spoilers are for looks anyway. Don't get me wrong I like the look, I still have mine, but the only reason you would NEED a spoiler that is actually designed for downforce is if you are racing on tracks and taking corners and 100+ mph or so, then you might notice the spoiler on there.

Unless you have a GSR, in which case, it has the required 3rd brake light in it (all other sub-models have it in the rear window).

Well my gs came with the optional wing and has the third brake light. Okay so there's no difference except for looks. That's all I wanted to know. Thanks for the information everyone.

I've got a GS with a factory spoiler/third brake light. I haven't seen anything indicating "special edition"

The "Special Edition" trim of 95-96 (just an LS with GS-R looks) was replaced by the GS trim level on the later cars.

I haven't had the wing on my car since 2002, and in fact haven't even had the holes for it since 2004. It makes no difference. The wing's LED bar has been stuck inside my rear glass with 3M emblem tape since 2002 and it has never moved.

Yes Tuner it's a wing, as it was raised up off the rear trunk panel.

You know, and I know you know, that the definition isn't quite that simple...

If it doesn't produce downforce, then it isn't a wing.
A spoiler, as one should expect from the name, spoils unfavorable air flow.

Raised off the rear panel, yet still a spoiler (example shamelessly stolen from the linked wikipedia article):
