96 Accord dash/instrument light question?
New Honda owner, 96 Accord. I don't know if they're suppose to light up or not:
- Emergency flasher does not light up with lights on (but does work)
- Rear window defrost does not light up with lights on (but also works)
- Drivers door window/mirror switches do not light-up with lights on (nor does pass door window/lock switch)
Also, SRS light and seat belt light does not come on when key is turned on I'm sure it's supposed to. Have been told that Honda should warranty all the SRS, seat belt stuff lifetime. That I may be able to get Honda to fix it free.
You think?

E-Flasher switch - remove the switch (properly - be sure not to break the clips). Underneath the switch, you should see a little plastic circle with what looks like a phillips-head. Unscrew that (it only turns about a quarter-turn. once you hit the qtr-turn mark, pull it out) - there will be a tiny little lightbulb attached to it. Replace that bulb and it should work.
Rear Window Defroster - try same as above
Drivers door switch - try same as above.
SRS light - I don't know (sorry)
**The bulbs will likey have to be purchased at the dealership, although if you know the color you need, you may be able to find them online**

Pulled the rear window defroster switch. The light underneath is the one that comes on when the switch is on. That one works. What is not working is the illumination light so you can find the switch at night.
I took the switch apart, and it's not going to be somehthing that can be replaced. It's a funky tiny bulb built into a rubber housing specificallly made to fit this switch.
I've tried to attach some pic's if anyone cares.
Looks like it's going to be easier to find one in a yard somewhere.

You can purchase those from the dealership.....

Muffin man is right - those are (usually) readily available at your local dealership. Or, there are online distributors that sell after-market versions.
