Default 2004 Honda Accord Front Dome Light not coming on while door open

Hello,

I have Honda Accord 2004 4 cyl. sedan. I have issue with front dome light which is not coming on when I open the any door!. Rear dome light is coming on but not the front dome light. If I push it for the night light it's coming on but not while door open! I think there is something wrong with the switch and needs to be replaced, any suggestion?

Thanks,
Yashuvp

Probably the button switch in the door jam is bad or a connection at the switch is broken. Real easy to replace and only cost like $5.

I think the button switch in the door is working fine I can see lights on at the door bottom as well as rear dome light. The problem is only the front dome light is not coming on!

Thanks,

The lights are ground activated. They used to ground through that switch but, in the newer vehicles the circuit goes through the MCU (Multiplex Control Unit) first. The MCU is an integral part of the under-dash fusebox.

1. test for voltage at the dome light. you should get battery voltage. if you don't get battery voltage you'll need a circuit diagram to trace that wire for the break or you can run a whole new wire

2. check for loose/broken/corroded connections at the dome light and the under-dash fusebox

3. replace the MCU/fusebox

I will test with meter for the voltage. I checked all the fuse under the dash board fusebox, the funny thing is it's coming on when I press it on but it's not coming on when I open the door!

Thanks for your suggestion and I will test it out.
