What's the best flywheel for EF Si?
I need to replace my clutch on my 89 Civic Si, so I figure I'll change the flywheel too. What's the best flywheel for this. I'm looking for quality and reliability, while slightly reducing the weight from stock. Steel, not aluminum. Thanks for the advice.
i would look for a stock civic vx flywheel. stock reliability and stock quality, but it is the lightest D series flywheel. Have to make sure you get a clutch for the 92-95 civic as well i believe.
Curious - why steel?
You can get aluminium wheels that have resurfacable/replaceable inserts for the areas of wear.
You could even take your stock wheel to a machine shop and have them machine some lightening holes into it and then balance.

I and rustbucketrex have been using the Fidanza 7lb aluminum flywheels with no issues for a while, and they see plenty of abuse in tons of street use and autocross. Now, I wouldn't recommend it for a drag car, but maybe a 12lb. If you're not worried about launching too much they're fun, but makes it tricky to launch.
I too am sporting the Fidanza 7lb flywheel. No issues here. It's been installed for maybe 40k and still running just fine. With a few drag pulls and occasional fun around town.
Definitely recommend one.
