1990 civic zc swap
I tried searching zc engines and nothing is coming up so I figured I'd see if anyone out there has any info on them. I did a zc swap in my 90 Ef hatch and I'm having trouble getting it to run right. Im getting a pop at 1500 rpms and no where else. It's throwing a map code but I have changed out the map. It has a new tps, plugs, non platinum ngk, new wires, new dizzy, the exhaust cam sensor is good and the timing is dead on. Anybody have a clue as to what it could be?
Yea, its a non si hatch. I got a swap harness and the ecu off a running civic with the same zc engine. Got the engine and trans from H motors. The only thing I haven't tried changing out is the IAC.
I followed a diagram that was posted on here. I used the ZC harness and the exsisting harness to make the swap. I've metered it out more then twice since and I used high quality aircraft grade splices to make sure there was no high resistance connections. Could it be the ecu itself?
Check your grounds. Make sure your distributor wiring is correct. An obd0 dpfi to 0bd0 mpfi conversion is very common. Also, just for ***** did you make sure mechanical timing is correct?
So basically the car is running and all you have is a map code.
Correct?
Not sure why people are getting their panties in a bunch over the harness. It wouldn't run if you didn't convert anything.
Make sure vacuum lines are ran correctly and not leaking.
Make sure the wires from ECU are going to the right place (you said you have done this, but why not once more for good measure)
Run new wire from the ECU directly to the map (this bypasses any potential issues with bad connectors along the way.)
Triple check that you have the wires going to the right pins on the MAP.

4dref, vacuum line is exactly what it was. I had the one from the MAP and the vacuum canister swapped on top of the TB. So simple I never would have thought of it. Thanks to all for the info!
this will help you alot! http://www.clubcivicquebec.com/HowTo.../DPFI_TO_MPFI/
And the .pdf you see in that post tell you where to place your new injectors wires http://www.thezcr.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14442
