okay so today as I was driving to work the check engine light came on. its a stock 99 honda civic lx 4 door. I had it checked at auto zone and they told me it could be these four things.

1. loose fuel cap.
2. vapor canister saturated
3. failed vent solenoid
4. failed purge solenoid.

my question is where is the vent and purge solenoid located at? and is it two different parts or just one part?

 

Start with the fuel cap. Make sure it clicks and check the seal around it for damage. erase the code and see if it comes back. did this happen after you filled up your tank?

 

okay ill do that. no not after i filled up, Im at a half of tank right now.
