Icon5 Open DP Fab, straight down to ground, or bend it under the pan? NOISE!

Hey guys, just looking for some opinions on how I should "end" my open downpipe, with both noise and power in mind. Im running the hotside of the turbo on the passenger side, so as of right now I have a 90* off the turbo facing down.

If I left it as is the downpipe would be exhausting directly at the ground straight down, or I could cut it a bit shorter and add another 90* and turn it under the oil pan, which would then be exhausting parallel to the road

Would either method reduce the noise at all? Id like the car to be somewhat street tolerable, I dont think either method would affect noise outside the car, but maybe one or the other could drastically reduce in cabin noise

Thanks alot!

facing down is going t cause hot exhaust gases to get sucked back into the engine. no matter what you do it will be loud if nt connected to the exhaust system unless you put it out the pass side fender or bumper

^^^^^ very true, if the gasses arent dumped so that theyre exiting the engine bay area they will be sucked back into the motor, causing intake temps to be higher and also youll make less power. Its been dyno proven before. If you dont want to bring it all the way out threw the back, then id exit it out the bumper. Mine exits the hood and it is loud, but it isnt as loud as people who have theres exit under the car where it can bounce off the road and bottom of car. So id say out the side of the bumper would be best for cabin noise and getting the gasses out of the bay

must exit out of the engine bay, i have used down turns passed the shifter hole(prevents exhasut in the cabin), or out of the bumper/hood.

Yea either run it right past the shifter with a turndown or run it out of the bumper

Hood exits always have the issue of becoming a rain trap, although I know where to get perfect silicone plugs for a 3" pipe
