Default Obd2 to Obd1 conversion help

I have googled/searched on Honda-tech about I just can't the answer I'm looking for. But It never hurts to ask. I was told in order to do a conversion on my obd2 b18b1 to obd1 lsvtec I will need to change my dizzy, altenator, starter and wiring harness. And ecu. I was also told that they sold an obd2 to obd1 wiring conversion harness and that all I would need is a obd1 ecu.

You can use the jumper harness.

You just need a obd2b-obd1 ecu conversion harness and a obd1 ecu.

Hey guys,

I'm new to the Honda world, yes I know I'm super late to the party but like they say... better late than never.

I have a 1997 Honda Accord 5 speed with a F22 original to the car engine. I'm attempting to use a HA Motorsports OBD1 ECU on it with Moates Ostrich.

My problem is that on the stock PCM and No harness jumper from OBD2 to OBD1 the car runs fine but on the P06 Chipped ECU cylinder 3 does not fire.
I've heard of the Dizzy conversion so i picked up a 1994 Accord Dizzy. I need to know how to wire the 8 pin Dizzy connector to my 4 pin Harness on the car...?

Any ideas, positive and helpful comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated..... OR if this is not a dizzy issue but maybe a harness issue then a comment on that would be nice too.
I have no idea if just swapping over the ECU with the OBD2 to OBD1 jumper harness is enough or if I do indeed have to rewire the Dizzy.

Thanks in advance. Sorry for being a complete noob.

It is likely that you either have a problem with the adapter harness OR the ECU has a bad injector driver for cylinder 3.

So the distributor modification is not necessary on the 1997 Honda accord with the 4pin(Main connector with grn, yel/grn, blk, and yel wires) + 2pin (Thick yellow and thin Blue wires) plugs? Again, sorry for the noob questions. I'm just trying to get a handle on this.

If you need pictures I can take some and upload them if my wording is unclear.

Thanks again!!

No, the distributor change is not necessary as long as you have the pair of sensors still mounted on the front of the oil pump. You essentially have three sensors: TDC, Crank Position and Cylinder Position. In the 1994 engine, all three sensors are found in the distributor. In the 1997 engine, only one sensor is found inside the distributor and the other two are found on the oil pump. So, if you have a grey 4-wire plug coming out of the lower timing cover at the rear edge that meets the engine harness, you are good and do not have to change the distributor.

Thank you so much for the information! The engine is the stock 1997 Accord F22B2 engine with the sensors on the oil pump so that helps me a lot. I have ordered another harness to test and if it still does it I will contact HA Motorsports on how to test the OBD1 ECU for injector 3 driver or replace the ECU with another one.

Thanks again!
