Hi all,
I've got the back seat out of my 93 Civic Si Hatch and when driving around today I noticed that the fuel pump made a nasty high pitched whine. Fuel pump is original stock (at least, it looks like it's been installed for 20 years).
Two thoughts: Is the whine normal and I just can't hear it when my back seat is installed, or is it a sign of a dying pump or some other problem? I had just upgraded the fuel level meter (to one with the low fuel sensor), so maybe a bad seal on the tank when I replaced it? Dunno, really - thought I'd put it out there to see if someone else has noticed this.
Searching reveals that the Walbro pumps are known to make a whine but I didn't find info on the stock ones.

All right, thanks guys. I'll leave it be for now. It's simple enough to change down the road anyway if need be after the interior is all back together.
