I have a 92 civic its auto car has about 145,000 so the issue I have with the car is that the car is stuck in drive in all gears the car turns on I put the car in reverse but does not do anything it just revs up too 3000 rpm and in "N" it goes in drive ...... When I put it in d4 it moves but is stuck in 1st gear I have too pull it down too 1st then back up too d4 and it does all the gears right from there on but " r" and "n" do not work at all I need help is the tranny out and need to be fixed or is the linkage broken ???? Any idea what it could be... Not a great way too start the new year

 

It does sound like your linkage is out of whack.
