Not a dumb question at all. You can either set your boost with your wastegate or manual boost controller. However, if you want to be able to control it from this ecu, you need to add the PWM Boost Control Kit.

I purchased this used so I am unfamiliar with the setup and how to tell what version it is. If you know, I will gladly look into it.

 

OBD1? Also, I'm pretty sure you can check the serial # to find if it's version 1 or 2.
