Default piston/sleeve/FRM/rebuild questions...

im planning on rebuilding the motor that came in my 97' prelude. the guy before me drove on it misfiring for about a year (was racing it and over revved).

the bent valves and basically everything in the head is no a problem for me. its the block that im worried about. do i need to resleeve it since it was miss firing for so long? (gas washing down the cylinders).

im just looking to put this motor back in the car and selling the car. not looking to upgrade or add performance. new sleeves are not cheap at all lol so im trying to avoid that.

basically im asking is there any way around resleeving it?

If there is no sign of damage to the FRM cylinders no intense scoring etc. If you can't pick it up with your finger nail, good to go on a re ring if you are able to use old pistons or find a suitable OEM FRM H22 piston (if mics out piston to wall specs are within recommendations) Back of the block near timing belt will tell you if it has type A or B pistons 4 digit # for each cylinder. Piston size. OEM piston OEM rings!

nice... its time to take this thing apart this week. i just always thought that if a cylinder was washed down with fuel that it needed to be honed, but i know heard that FRM should no be honed.. lol so i was not sure.
