electrical issue thats got me stumped
le sigh.
Got a JDM SiR sat here is have done a full bare shell re-build on.
have been building it back up and engine and bits have been on and in for the last month. the car has started fine and idled up fine (all the wiring is non cut and oem)
the only issue i have had is the charging light was on (duff alt)
so today i rebuilt the B series alt and it works fine.
put it on and started the car. great idling up fine, no issues. let it idle and turned the heater fan on and car just cut out there and then.
took the key out of the ignition and everything turns off except the oil warning light! (dash and power should be dead)
now when i try to start it i cannot hear the fuel pump prime at all.
the lights will not work at all in any ignition position.
the only way i can get the oil warning light to go off with the key out of the ignition is to pull the battery lead.
now when i reconnect it the warning light stays out until i put the key into ign1 and bam its on even when i take the key out.
so started in this order and have done the following.
checked all the fuses. (none gone)
disconnected the aircon heater panel and still the same.
disconnected the dash clock loom and still the same.
disconnected the main relay nowt, same with the sender and pump plug.
tried it with the indicator stalks disconnected
checked every plug on the block to a sensor and its still the same
checked all the earths.
have tried starting it also with the new alt disconnected (nothing)
really at a loss now as to what the hell is up with it?
have even put more fuel in the brand new tank and its made no diff. seems like somthing has gone awol or fubar in the harness somewhere and messed up all the electrical connections in the car!
help want this car finished and i only have it for another 5 weeks
