Alternator issues
Ok, this will sound weird but I have a 91 civic dx and I decided that my alternator was bad. I have had the car for 2+ years and this is the first charging issue I have had. I had the battery tested and it was ok, just needed a charge. I purchased a rebuilt alternator and went about to remove the old one. After some scraped knuckles and saying a few nice comments about the placement of the alternator I noticed that I had the big white wire connected to the alternator but no other wires. Upon digging around I found what I assume to be the remains of the 4 wire plug. Some owner prior to me decided that they didn't need that plug and cut it off. They nicely taped the ends so that there would be no shorting out. Who in their right mind would have cut off a plug for the alternator? Here's my problem - I don't have a plug and I don't have a parts car. I don't figure the junk yard would be happy for me to cut a plug off of a harness. The terminals on the alternator appear pretty standard in size. Does anyone have the color code for the wiring harness and what terminal they go to on the alternator. I found a schematic that says -
WHT/BLU goes to "L"
BLK/YEL goes to "IG"
YEL/BLU goes to "FR"
WHT/YEL goes to "C"
That's just dandy but what terminal on the alternator is "L", "IG", "FR", and "C". I can't seem to find this anywhere. I have looked and the alternator does not say which is which. I believe I can make the wires connect if I knew who was who. thanks in advance and may God bless.

The Black/Yellow is the ignition
Yellow/Blue is to the fuel injection ECU
White/yellow goes to the PGM-fuel injection ECU also.
That is according to the Honda service manual for CRX. I know yours is a Civic but they should all be fairly similar.
I'm not sure but it seems that someone prior did some re-wiring of your car. Cutting off that plug would make the car unable to start so something else was done to get it to run. Possibly a re-wire bypassing the factory set up.
I could be wrong and often am.
The junk yard dont care if u cut a plug off lol there free anyway... U should have seen this mint 90 ex sedan my buddy and i ripped apart just to get the entire harness behind the dash we ruined the whole inside we were in a hurry with only 1 screwdriver and a pocket knife
