BNew to the forum, kind iof new to Hondas...1990 Accord EX
So, I already did the search function thing and got some answers for the fluctuating idle issue, but I also have a stuttering idle issue when it sits and idles for a little bit. It's not enough to make it stall, but it idles, two short blips(stutter), then clean idle for a few seconds, then blips again. After I do a tuneup and follow the instructions I found here for the fluctuating idle issue, I'll see if it goes away. Does anyone know the part number for the Air Boost Valve? I have a family member that works for a Honda Dealership, so if I could get the part number, I can have him order it for me.

If he works at Honda he should be able to look up the part number for you.
Or you can look it up at ether www.hondapartsdeals.com or Majestic Honda/Honda Automotiveparts.com

Well, I asked him if he could pull the part number for an Air Boost Valve (Which is what I saw it referred to on here) and they can't find a part under that name. So I'm wondering if there is an actual part name or part number he can look up by to order it for me.
Yeah Honda usually has a way of listing parts with the names backwards. It would probably be listed as a Valve Assembly, Air Boost. Just like the fast idle thermal valve is listed as the valve assembly fast idle.
Did you check those two websites I linked you to? I know for a fact that the parts are listed on there.

I found the part in the second link you gave me. Now I need to let my brother in law know what it is so he can see if he can get it for me at cost.
Because I feel it better to replace it with new than have to fix it over and over and besides, California is a bitch when it comes to anything that may effect smog tests. So I figure, do it right the first time.

Ever thought of blocking it off? Honda makes a block off plate for it. With the IACV and the FITV already in place. I have no idea how the boost valve would actually be of any benefit to Accords in California/warm climates. I think it may helps in high elevations as well. I see no need for it, it's not an integral part of the smog or emissions systems.
Oddly enough, I do live in a high elevation cold part of California. It's currently been hitting mid 30's here and I live just about at the snow line, so I'm probably going to just fix it.
Fair enough......
........... on another note. I live in the North country, my garage is literally an igloo. I had my FITV disconnected for 2 full years with no issue. The IACV compensated for the fluctuation in temperature quite easily. As long as the Intake Air Temp and Engine Coolant Temp sensors are working it should have no problems.
The air boost and FITV are mechanical valves, they are not controlled via the ECU/PCM like the IACV is. They are engine coolant and vacuum controlled. Just saying!

My other idle issue is sometimes, on start up or running for a while, it'll blip while idling like there is a miss. I have no check engine lights or anything on, and it does it momentarily. So it will idle, the two quick blips, idle smooth, two quick blips, and keep doing this over and over. What should I check for that.
So, did a full tuneup, cleaned the throttle body, replaiced the air boost valve and fitv. Started up and ran great with no stutter. The idle issues were a combination of problems, including the motor way overfilled with oil from the previous owner which was causing the plugs to be bathed in oil.
So, here's the new issue, it idles great when in park, but when I put it in drive, the idle dropped so low it almost stalled and the check engine light came on, but when put back in park, it idled fine. Now what do I do?

Never mind, reset the computer as suggested, let it idle until the fans came on, then turned the car off and started it again and everything is fine. The idle dips a little low in reverse, but does fine in drive, park, neutral, etc. Need to replace the transmission soon. Still need to find a place to buy the engine inspection plug.
Well, found the number for the timing plug. Also, I had to order the o-rings for the spark plug holes and a new valve cover gasket because I'm getting oil in the plug valleys.
I also live in the communist state of Cow-lifornia, but the only concern in my opinion when it comes to completely blocking off the fitv valve with a plate is the visual inspection. Has anyone come across this problem?

I also live in the communist state of california. But my uncle owns a house in Havasu AZ. sooooo... I keep ALL my cars registered and insured through AZ. SO MUCH CHEAPER and NO SMOG!! So as far as worrying about smog and emmissions isnt really my thing. I don't know anyone out here where i live but where i used to live (Indio) I know where to get smog "with help".

As far as the Visual goes. If the person isnt "Honda" savvy and doesn't realize that the FITV is missing, I dont know how you would fail a visual.
