Default Stiff clutch pedal help

I have a 94 honda civic ex with a d16z6. Yesterday i was cleaning out my car and when i finished i took it out for a spin. It was driving fine when all of a sudden the cluch pedal started getting stiffer and stiffer. I got to my house and checked the cluch fluid and it was full. I dont know what to check for or what to do. I replaced the clutch and flywheel back in june so its new and it wasnt giving me any problems up untill now. What can it be?

did you grease the release bearing and shaft? does it engage and disengage properly beside it being stiff?

Another thing to consider is the slave cylinder. Make sure everything is properly bled and you are getting full motion at the slave cylinder.

Was the pedal really easy (one finger easy) to press when you had the bleeder open? What pressure plate are you using? stock?

Yea when the bleeder was open the clutch was really easy to push down. The pressure plate is not stock. I i bought a stage 1 clutch kit, so everything came withit inclucding the pressure plate

"Stage 1" means nothing. Stage 1 from what manufacturer? Most "stage 1" clutch kits use a stock clamping force pressure plate assembly.

So when you had the bleeder open, you could easily push the pedal down, but no fluid was coming out?

could be a problem with the master or slave cylinder, try to bleed it and see if theres any fluid coming out, if its a problem with either or they are easy to replace and relatively cheap

I have the same problem! Just started last week! I can barely drive it. 99 Civic EX 1.6l Coupe. It was driving fine all day and then the pedal started feeling stiff and I had to press the clutch down extra hard to be able to get the stick into gear. Every gear! I also replaced both master and slave cylinder. So frustrating when the clutch felt exactly the same! Let me know if you find out what the problem is. I'm probably gonna go to the junk yard and get a used tranny there

My clutch is a stage 3 and might have about 10k miles on it. Replaced everything at that time too! Clutch, pressure plate, bearings...

Check the Master cylinder and make sure its bench bled and working properly.

It could be a damaged release bearing, a broken clutch diaphragm strap or an engagement spring ejected out of the clutch disc. You will have to pull the trans to check all of this.
