Default Gauge cluster upgrades for an 88 std?

My tach only goes to 8k and that'll be a problem for the 9500rpm motor.
I can add an autometer ugly tach, but is there another reasonable option?

In my 91si, I have an itr gauge cluster and I'm happy with it, but the fitment isn't perfect.

What would you guys recommend?

S2k?

are you monitoring your revs constantly? ie, racing and have your shift points plotted out or you just want to see the rpms? easy and cheap route, shift light

s2k clusters redline at 9000, your probably better off to stay with the itr cluster

look into this:
http://www.autometer.com/cat_accesso...l.aspx?vid=193

i take mine to 8500rpms only. but yes the ef tach is very limiting.

i have it for me ef.
Got a used from local buddy for $50
works well & pretty bright but you can make several adjustment to it.
I put mine in the middle ef vent.

Are you asking us for your opinion on which you should get?

Yes, this is my autox car (SMF).

I will have a shift light as well, but still want to be able to monitor rpm's accurately.

IMO, for what you want, having a shift light would be better than having to constantly look at your rpms. when i had my b16b, i had my tuner set my cel as a shift light. had my revlimiter set at 9k rpm and shift light at 8400rpm. i was using ectune at the time and was one of the programming options. currently have a large screen tunerview that i can monitor the rpms of my B18c1:

(screen doesn't look faded, i'm just bad at taking pics at night)

the screen flashes when i hit a set rev limit. some people have set the small tv2 into the stock cluster like so:

similar one for sale on another forum

here's an EDM cluster that i found for sale, but if you're going for complete accuracy, stock tachs aren't that precise

here's another option

Thanks BLU,

I also have the cel 'shift light' option enabled, but IMO its rather useless without wiring an external led to it and mounting that somewhere more visible.

Thanks for the tuner view suggestion - I had forgotten about that.
