We're developing a new part for TallKyle's CRX trackcar.
It will be a full panel molded from the oem console.
---Pics of the 'mold-plug' progress.....

Still some surface prep work yet, but soon we'll be ready to build a production level mold from this plug.
More to come........

The mold is has been made from the above 'plug' and is undergoing some finishing work in order to move on to bagging the actual part.

This could bring some bucks! Do you plan to market this? Make this for the big 3 (eg,ek,dc2), and you will be working on these more than you want to.
Jaime,
Why didn't you angle the flanges away from the surface of the plug? You're going to have a hell of a time trimming the final piece once it's completed.

first though was an entirrrreeee console... but just the filler...
try using a sheet of aluminum.. bend it up to fit the angled curve.. it will hold its shape very well ..polish it up... wax it up. lay your carbon/resin on and you now have a perfect template to cut to shape.
just throwing ideas for an item thats flat faced and strait forward.
edit just notice that carbon is what you do... sorry thought it was like a firstime project...

Not true. With the flange being and flat as he has it, the contour of the infused part will stand out. At least to someone who knows what they are doing it will.

Here is the CRX Center Console Panel mold. It still needs some finish work, but should see the business-side of a vacuum bag in the coming days. Behind it is our new B18A/B Timing Cover plug and mold.
NOTE: That is a glob of rubbing compound on the front that I didn't see before the picture.
Keep an eye out for upcoming information on how you could enter to win one of these panels next month. We are donating one to be given away in promotion of a very large bay area event.

No, TallKyle backed out of this project due to concerns over his K-swap baller status shift assembly clearances....
...and to prevent hiding the baller status shift linkage.
We sat on the project for a few months, but had to get it done for
www.BLOXopenhouse.com
and
http://rimzandribz.com/
Both on July 13th.
