(The car is about 2minutes off the 95 near Harrison and Rye NY just south of Port Chester and CT)
So tonight I was leaving my grandma's to go back home and when I pulled off the exit to pick up my friend the car lost all power to the gas pedal and went quiet. As I was still rolling I pop-started it which worked for half a second and then nothing. Checked all fluids and whatnot because it had been a road trip and now it turns over fine but doesn't sound like the fuel is igniting?
Tried started fluid which did nothing and couldn't get it into a shop or anywhere with light and tools because well today is christmas... I checked connections on the distributor/starter and battery, but they all seemed connected although slightly corroded. Is there something I am blatantly missing which I could try in the morning before having to get it towed someplace and pay money that honestly I dont have.


any help this evening would be amazingly appreciated!

 

Check for 12v at the blk/ylw wire to the distributor.if there is 12v,the distributor internals are the problem.if no 12v,you're looking at ignition switch or main relay.

 

poop, that is what i was hoping it was not. I have to get it towed this eve because my whole socket set isnt with me

What kind of car is it? (I assume your civic from your avatar?)

Check timing too.
