CV Axle 94-01 integra B18b
Ok, so I have a 95 civic, with a JDM B18b and an s80 hydro tranny. I replaced the driver side cv axle, bought the 94-01 ls integra axle, worked fine. Replacing my tranny/passenger side however, is a bitch and won't go in. It gets stuck before even the splines can match up. I tried hitting it with a mallet with the old cv axle nut on the hub part, tried using force. There is nothing wrong with my tranny, no distortion, shredded metal; THE OLD ONE GOES IN PERFECTLY FINE AND WORKS! ( old one has cracked boot ). So I'm down to 2 options here; either my part is defective and I will return for the same part and try again.
Last resort : I don't know how but obviously these things are rebuit; Someone should find a tutorial or explain how to replace just the boot, so I can take the outer boot on new one, put it on old one so it goes into my transmission.
Note, engine is jdm, not sure if tranny is, but it shouldn't matter, cause the other piece fit in the transaxle fine.
someone please help.. I just did an oil change, replaced a buncha ****, prepped, painted my car, plated it and drove for 2 days out of the month it's registered lol.. this should be a 15 minute job that turned into 2 weeks. I'm so stumped.. If anyone is in saskatoon a god damn perfectionist enthusiast honda mechanic, lmao should come check this **** out. I could take pictures, but it's not a matter of how I'm doing it.. the ****** thing won't go in, the old one goes in with some force; remember, the new one doesn't even get to the splines/gear it gets stuck before that.
